Last Saturday, the 3rd and 4th of March, the FTGEJFC attended the Knox Festival and had a very positive result. Over the 2 days we had 5-6 new players sign up and possibly 1 veteran and 1-2 All Abilities players. Numerous enquiries were made about Auskick and overall we had positive feedback from many people. Players and families from other Clubs were made welcome and the handball target proved very popular with young and old alike.

Unfortunately the Saturday saw a much lower attendance than hoped for, due to the terrible weather but this was not the case on the Sunday. As a 'free activity' stand we had many boys and girls and some Mums and Dads have a try at the handball target. We also ran a competition where visitors could guess the number of 'Lollies in the Jar'. This free competition also proved popular and was won with an EXACT guess of 293, by a new FTG Eagles U8 player.

Our Stand was also visited by Alan Tudge (local Federal Member of Parlaiment) and Nick Wakeling (local State Member of Parliament). Both passed on their congratulations and well wishes to us and praised us in our efforts in spreading the community message that we promote at The Ferntree Gully Eagles Junior Football Club.

I would like to say a BIG Thank-you to all that helped out in the planning, setting up,manning the stand and packing up over the 2 days. I would especially like to say thanks to the coaches who attended and helped out. Many hands make for light work and I am very grateful to you all…

To all concerned many thanks and despite the average weather the 2012 Knox Festival was a great success for the 'Eagles'
